“I’ve been thinking about contacting you for a while,” the prospective client shared with me during our initial phone conversation. I noticed he had looked at my profile a few times. Then he liked several of the daily postings I share. When he “followed” me on LinkedIn I knew it was past time to reach out.
“What took you so long to reach out?” I asked.
“I don’t know,” he said. “I guessed you were likely busy and I didn’t want to seem overly aggressive.”
I laughed. “I’m never too busy to speak to someone who wants our help. This is what we do. It’s the whole reason we’re here.”
We visited. He shared his situation. VP level guy who wanted to make the jump to the C-Suite. He had all the right experience but needed help advancing to the next level. I knew we could help and he decided to come aboard as a client.
